Gus spent the first part of his career starting up European collaborations and projects for international organisations in the European wood and furniture sector. Those four sun-filled years in Valencia were a true feast for this fan of paella and Mediterranean cuisine.

So it was only natural that his love of food resulted in him joining the Flanders’ FOOD team in 2017. Gus is happy as a (Paella) clam in this multicultural and international environment. He is mainly involved in Flanders’ FOOD’s international projects. Projects about packaging, by-product valorisation and food waste reduction have made him an expert. Since 2019, Gus is involved in all things sensors, digitisation and automation in the Industry 4.0 team.

Gus may enjoy good food, but he always rides his bike to work. Healthy and sustainable! Gus also became a certified chef in 2018. His speciality? Paella Valenciana!
