Bioengineer, Land and Forestry Management
After an internship abroad in 1995 and fresh out of university, Veerle started working as a bioengineer at the Laboratory of Wood Technology (Ghent University). After her first work experience, she gained a lot of experience in marketing and sales functions at Boss Paints, Fuji Oil Europe and Milcobel. She got her Master’s degree in Industrial Business Management (Ghent University) in 2006.
Veerle has been working at Flanders’ FOOD as a Business Development & Internationalization Manager since 2012. In this function, she coordinates Flanders’ FOOD’s international activities and brings the various parties in the agri-food system together, in Flanders and at the European level. She establishes partnerships and starts up European projects, which also include our companies. Together with her colleagues, she puts Flanders’ FOOD firmly on the European map and increases innovation resources for Flemish companies.
Veerle can’t sit still. She loves to travel both privately, with her family or friends, and professionally. To clear her head, she likes to go for a run or ride her bike. And if she has some time to spare, you can find her gardening or restoring furniture.
